My Saturday was turned on its head. I didn't go to the aquarium. Mike's friend had spent the night, which meant standing room only in the van, 'cept there's no standing room so I was odd man out. Sure, I could have followed them down in my car, but that would have been more than awkward.

So instead I hit the computer show that was going on in Concord. I picked-up some Visual Basic software for Brandon, a book for me, and a KVM switch cheap. I want to setup a second computer so I can do some playing around with Linux. I have a copy of Fedora Core 1 and want to check it out.

After the show I hit one of the antique shops. For a couple of weeks now I've been looking for a dresser. When I moved out, I didn't take any furniture. After we started going to the divorce mediator, Rayann agreed I could take my dresser; however, after the house fire, it wasn't exactly in usable condition. I'd been wanting something antique-ish. While a nice Federal-style piece of furniture would be both a nice piece and a decent investment, I didn't quite have the budget for that--plus it would have looked extremely out of place here in the trailer.

Several weeks later, I'd still not found anything that meet the budget and style requirements. Let's just say that there's a lot of junk out there. Yesterday when I saw this dresser I knew I was going home with it. (Anyone else like that? You're not sure what you want, but you know for certain when you don't want something--then Bang! You find something you just have to have and there's no point in looking around anymore? Anyway...)

After getting it home, I hit Walmart and Target in search of shelfpaper to line the drawers. From the five dollar DVD bin at Walmart I rescued a copy of Monkey Bone. I'd not seen it before, and it had an air of BeatleJuice about it, or so I thought. Parts of it are slow, but it was mostly funny. They could have done a lot more with the premise. I'm not sure if the limiting factor was the script or Brendan Fraiser. Rose McGowan does a delightful kitty, too bad she was under used. Whoopie Goldberg was an unnecessary contrivance, IMO.

(They also didn't need her in the movie... *rimshot*)

I missed the coinshow this morning, but having spent more money than I should have yesterday, that's OK. Brandon wants to go see Collateral today. Maybe we'll do AvP tomorrow.
