crazy week
Sep. 2nd, 2004 10:52 pmI've spent most of this week trying not to nod-off at work because I've spent each night helping move Rayann and the kids out of the house and back into a hotel. The landlord decided not to renew the lease for September, and the asshat adjuster from the insurance company wouldn't authorize anything else other than a hotel.
Got home from work today and crashed. Felt somewhat more human when Brandon woke me at 7:30 wanting some dinner. I feel bad for him this week. Monday was his 16th birthday. Other than dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, it was mostly a non-event for him, which I'll will try to remedy this weekend. We hit Borders tonight so he could spend the money he got from my parents and my sister. He got a book and a cd: The Bourne Identity, and the soundtrack from Underworld. I picked-up the latest issue of "Paintball 2Xtremes".
Tomorrow I get to experience the joys of "Applying Microsoft Security Guidance Hands-on Lab" which was required training for everyone in the department, including us Unix admins. So, I get a day out of the office, and if I'm lucky, I can get out before 4 and bet the traffic. It seems like have the population of Massachusetts treks north every holiday weekend, and I want to be off the highway by the time that gets into full swing.
