Haven't posted in over a week, haven't felt like it. Lots going on, not much to say. Working too much again, I hope that stops this week, but then things need to quite breaking. Since last Monday we've had to replace a CPU, a power supply, SSA controller cache batteries, a hard drive in the SAN, and today one of the HP systems got mistakenly unplugged from the network. From the patch pannel. Still was only down 12 minutes, so it wasn't too terrible.
Got to spend Friday and Saturday with my kids. That was a fun time. Didn't do much, ran errands, had lunch out, watched kid videos. I let Sam stay up Friday and watch National Treasure with me and the boys cause she didn't want to sleep in her room alone. She was definitely the happiest to see Elyssia home Saturday when her and their mom got back.
Ebay was a bust. Listed twenty-some auctions ending this past weekend, 3 sold. "Weak economy" doesn't begin to describe the economic slide since the beginning of the year. On the up-side, there are some incredible bargans to be had right now. Not that I have the money for that sort of thing. In fact, for the first time in the last 5 years, I missed the spring antiquarian book sale downtown for lack of fundage.
The 2nd contractor has finished at the house, for now. They are supposed to be getting to me a write-up of what the furnace needs done to bring it up to code, a copy of which is going to the original plumber with a letter stating he's liable and needs to address it with a copy to the city building code office. For all the good that it will do. Realistically I've got another lawsuit in my future to file. And the two- and three-way switches that only have a single working switch are due to the ground wires being hot, so the original electrician is going to be getting a letter notifying him of that one. Not that is sounds like it, but this is actually progress. Maybe by the end of the year I'll really, finally be done with this.
Or not.
