I got my tax return and am feeling flush even though it's 90% allocated for stuff like heating oil, new glasses for me and for Danny, and Mike's driver's Ed. I had sense enough to stay away from the Coin Shop where I could do some serious damage to my checkbook. No qualms, however, about going to Borders.

I needed a wall calendar for work. Last year's was Escher, and the year befor Monet. Not surprisingly, there wasn't much of a selection. I settled for "Tutankhamun"; it's 12 months of Egyptian art.

I also got a book, "Teach yourself CSS in 24 hours". Yeah, I know, it's the 21st century, where the hell have I been? Well, I've been stuck doing Unix admin and writing the ocassional bit of HTML. They use Front Page at work (which sux); I have Arachnophilia at home. Neither has anything inherantly accomodating to CSS (that I have found, not that I've looked all that hard), hence the book. I didn't realize how poorly Front Page did HTML until I downloaded FireFox and saw how the code was supposed to be rendered. Some of it was trivial stuff like trying to do the "hr" in a table and not getting the width correct. Some of it stuff that matters like font typefaces and colors not being what they are in IE from cell to cell. I'm hoping to fix all that with a bit of appropriate CSS to define some default fonts, colors, and typefaces.

I also bought "Siberia", the latest CD From Echo and The Bunnymen. I've not yet listened to the entire thing, but so far so good.
