The new IBM Thinkpad laptops have a motion sensor in them to detect when they get dropped in order to instantly shutdown the harddrive so it won't get damaged. Well, those clever Linux hackers have been at it again. They've tapped into the sensor interface, and have been able to detect not only when the pc is dropped, but when it gets hit. To the point where they have developed a knocked-based interface.

What will they think of next?

And for those wondering what road to hell upgrade options they have for the new Windows Vista update due to come out... sometime... ArsTechnica offers this matrix. Linux is looking better all the time. If I can get myself to walk away from my AOL e-mail address that I've had for almost 10 years now...
