time for professional help
Aug. 29th, 2006 12:16 amI've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to use an employment agency to find a new job. The number of listings on Monster and Dice have increase in the last few weeks, but I'm still not seeing anything jump out at me as an opportunity that I can't let pass me by. And I know it's out there, so time to get the headhunters involved. What I need now is a recommendation for an honest firm to go to.
My coworker spent most of this morning being pissed off for not much more than having to do his job. I've got other people in IT looking to dump their work on me again, and the Ex screwed-up and let the phone get turned off at the house. Again. I've actually lost count of the number of times this has happened. This is at least the third, if not the fourth time in the last 5 years this has happened. And they didn't live in the house for almost all of 2004.
And now that the weather is getting colder--at least at night--I am reminded why I wanted to get a new car this summer. The rear-window defroster on my car is broken. Where the wires clip into the window is where the break is. I paid to have it repaired once, which really was just some mechanic using cold solder to put it back on the window. Except it came off the first time I used it. Maybe I can find someone at the auto parts store who'll have a real fix for it. It's a little thing, but try going without using it on a cold, rainy morning with a wet jacket and a hot cup of coffee and see what happens.
So yes, definitely time for professional help.
