But it is. Startreck.com has an editorial about it.

I'm watching the mini-marathon on TV Land right now. I've not seen an episode of The Original Series in I don't know how long. I don't remember when I first saw Star Trek. I was little. I was all of four years in old when the last episode was aired in it's original run. While it's possible I may have caught a few minutes of the show, I honestly don't remember. Star Trek is just something that I've been aware of for as long as I can recall right along with the console television set my parents had in the tiny bungalow where I spent the first 5 years of my life.

I was overjoyed when "The Next Generation" was on. I was appalled by the last incarnation, "Enterprise". But, not for the reasons most people who share my opinion seem to have. It's a bit difficult for me to recognize bad acting unless is fairly extreme. I don't read faces that well. Scott Bakula didn't seem to be any worse of an actor to me than Shatner. The writing, however, was hot and cold; the storylines were abismal and the left-turn from the accepted cannon was highly disappointing. I think I've seen more of the episodes in reruns than I ever watched during it's initial run.

There's supposedly a new movie in the works. I hope it doesn't suck. I like "Nemisis", for the most part. Although I am a firm believer in the theory that if a character is going to get killed off, then that character ought to have the decency to stay dead.

(Except Buffy, but that was different.)
