The movie I want to take Danny to see stopped showing today. So intead I took him and Mike out with me for some errands.
We stopped at the coin shop first. Frank has been holding a coin for me for two months now, and I was happy to finally be able to get it. Danny likes going because Frank has a box of misc. world coins and Danny enjoys going through them. He likes picking out the small ones, and was not disappointed with what was available today.
When we paid, Frank wrote-up Danny's selection seperately, cause he likes to indulge the kids, make them feel like they are doing something important. Given that Danny is part of Frank's future costumer base, this is not only nice, but a good business move. So Danny's stack of stuff comes to $5.00. I hand him a five dollar bill and tell him that he can pay for his stuff himself. Dan takes it and looks at it for a minute. Then he looks up at me, at Frank, back at Mike, smiles, and slowly starts to pocket it.
Frank just breaks up laughing at him, Mike asks him what was he doing and Dan just gives this little ok-you-caught-me grin at everyone.
We got lunch, hit a couple of stores and then back to my place. Mike got some internet time on my computer, Danny got to watch Shrek II and I got to hang out and relax for a couple more hours with them.
Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.
