Brandon and I saw Ghost Rider today. It was only OK. There really wasn't any moment that seem to reach out and grab my attention. Which isn't to say that the movie didn't hold my attention. It's decently paced, they give sufficient time for the backstory to setup the conflict, but there wasn't that moment in the action where the pace was ramped up another notch. The intensity level was up, but it starts up around 6 or 7 and just stays there; there's no real effort to get it up to 9 or 10.

Of course, it could have been the interruption that had something to do with it. We saw the movie at Smitty's. It's very different being out and still able to drink a guinness and have an appetizer or a burger while you watch a movie. About 3/4ths of the way through the movie, the fire alarm went off. Everybody left the building and about 10 minutes later the fire department shows up. Brandon thought it was quite ironic that the Ghost Rider had evoked that sort of response.

Turns out that there was a malfunction in the sprinkler system that set off the alarms. After about 15 minutes, they let us back in and started the movies from where they left off. Most decidedly a new experience at the movies for me.
