Feb. 28th, 2007 11:45 pmMy Grandma is going to be having cornea transplant surgery in a month. She's 86. I miss her a lot so I'm thinking of doing the drop everything and fly out and see her. I'm also thinking about pulling the kids out of school and taking them. However, Mike missed a lot of school earlier when he was sick. If they miss more than 13 days, they automatically fail for the semester, and he obviously doesn't want to do that.
I still don't know how big a deal it is. I've got to call my aunt who lives in St. Louis. She's a neo-natal intensive care nurse. And if she's going to do the drop everything and go bit, then I'll know it's a very Big Deal. My mom and two of my uncles are going to be part of a study to determine if the condition my Grandma has is genetic, or not. So hopefully something good can come from this.
I told my Ex about this tonight. I didn't tell her much other than it's happening. She knew how much I was bothered by this, because she came over here tonight to see how I was and find out more about what's going on. She really loves my grandparents and is truly concerned and it was very nice for her to come here and check on me. For as much as I complain about her, it's only right that I'm equally publicly thankful when she does something nice like this.
