It was bound to happen, and this year it finally did. The Cleveland Browns made a steal of the deal to nab the best QB in the draft after making the gutsy call and drafting the best offensive lineman with their number three pick. I wonder how nervous the Brown's exec's were waiting until the 22nd pick to snag Brady Quinn?
The Brows by far
had the best draft of any team.. Far better than the Patriots, whose best draft-day move was
stealing Randy Moss from Oakland for practically nothing.. With four new targets to throw to and losing only Daniel Graham, Tom Brady is going to have another 30+ TD year this season, and the Patriots should easily win the division going away.
Cleveland only got really badly blown-out a couple of times last year; they were in most of the games until the 4th quarter, and a couple until the last play. They had potential to be much better than 4-12. This year they have a real shot at 8-8 or 9-7 and perhaps sneaking into the playoffs with a wildcard. Pittsburgh has a new coach and a damaged QB, Cincinnatti was shown to be a pretender last year and will be more of the same this season, leaving Baltimore as the only real strength in the division--and they have problems at QB as well, with McNair showing a tragic lack of arm strength in the second half of last season. So, the 2007-2008 season may prove to be a nice one for Brown's fans for a change.
