some regular life for a change
May. 12th, 2007 03:54 pmIt's a gorgeous day out. I have my three little ones and we spent this morning doing errands, including stopping and getting my haircut. They behaved perfectly while waiting for me, sitting quietly watching cartoons. Afterwards we hit WalMart. Sam asked if she could get something for her mom tomorrow. While we were there, I picked up a charcoal grill and some MatchLight.
I can't say how long it's been since I've grilled with charcoal. 15 years, at least. I'm am out of touch. It took almost as long to get the coals going as it did for me to put the grill together. But it was worth the wait, as I had marinated chicken and hot dogs to cook for lunch. And not just any hotdogs, but Hebrew National all beef dogs! There's nothing like a freshly grilled kosher hot dog and a cold beer on a warm afternoon. The kids spent the constuction and cooking time blowing bubbles and jumping rope.
Now we are all lazing around, full from lunch and zoning out. When Tom and Jerry is over I'm going to take Danny outside and kick the soccer ball around some with him. It's too nice out to stay in!
