managing humtpy dumpty
Jul. 15th, 2007 10:31 pmI've spent the bulk of today fixing my PC: running windows update (which I had turned off because I didn't want IE v7), updating my Norton anti-virus, and lots and lots of rebooting. I acquired a trojan through a pop-up firefox let through that my Norton wasn't updated for, because like an idiot I let the subscription run out. I still had to hunt down and remove a few stray .dll files, but eventually got the garbage gone.
A very good program to have is Unlocker Assitant, which will unlock a file in use so it can be deleted, or if it can't, delete it during the next reboot. Very handy for wiping out rogue .dll files.
I still have to upload my vacation pics. I also have a lot more to write. Yesterdy I took time out from that to list some stuff on ebay, which I took pictures of and posted tonight after the clean-up was done. Except not all the pictures came out, so I get to try again with that tomorrow. Then I'll see about posting my vacation pics.
Here's a a small teaser
