I am stuck at work. Came in at 8pm. Yeah, that 8pm. Yesterday. Doing an upgrade to our archive storage system for the medical imaging application, and have run into problems and delays. We are now waiting for the hardware vendor to go through shift change, so we have stopped working with the level 2 guy in Ireland and are waiting for the lucky tech person in Mass. to call us. We've have software problems, hardware problems, swapped two disk drives and now will probably have to also wait for a software engineer to log in and look at and interpret the errors.

I'm tired, bored, anxious, frustrated and probably some other stuff I'm too mixed-up with to get right now. I also cannot get a hold of my boss, and am wondering if he's taken his daughter back up to McGill, in which case he's well out of pager range. And the kicker is that I'm on-call this weeks, so if anything else goes awry later today or even tonight, it's going to be zombie-admin to the rescue, as both my co-workers are out of state.

I just had the genius idea to send myself a test text page to verify that the text pages are being sent from our intra-web, and there goes my pager, so the message is getting out. There's just no one out there listening.

I got to get out of work by 1. The tech from Mass who took the call work the right voodoo to get the system to not only cooperate and finish the upgrade, but also got the supposedly bad disk drives back in, so no need to recreate data.

Yeah, that's cause for a woot!

I got home about 1:30, crashed for 4 hours and feel almost human again. Now I get to do laundry and wash dishes and live the stuff o' life today. I also get to do follow-up for court.

His attorney actually complied with a deadline, got me the stuff due to me in Discovery, including the release form to get a transcript of his tax returns, which I faxed to the IRS last night. I have until August 1 to rewrite and file my Motions for Summary Judgment. That'll be fun.

(Not really, but it's almost all over now.)
