good news and bad news
Aug. 23rd, 2007 10:34 pmGood News: I came home to a phone message about one of the jobs I applied for this week asking for a call back.
Bad News: It's a place I applied at last year, and I'm way over-price for what they are willing to pay, even if they come up another 10k if it is for the same position. (However, if they are hiring for the same position again, maybe they've realized they need to be paying more along the lines of the going market rate for some real talent).
Good News: I got an update about the job where they supposedly want to interview me.
Bad News: The HR person there is on vacation this week and I most likely won't hear anything until the middle of next week at the soonest.
Good News: Taking a rough mental inventory of my books, coins, and Other Stuff I could ebay, I'm thinking I could maybe squeeze out another 4-5 months of expenses if I had to unload *everything*.
Bad News: I'd have nothing left to pass on to my kids, my hobbies would be essentially gutted and I'd probably have to eat dirt three times a day in the mean time.
Ok, back to being eerily Zen about this and not worrying about things until after Labor Day.
