life and death
Apr. 10th, 2008 10:29 pmThis morning I had an appointment with my insurance agent. Among other topic of conversation, we talked about converting part of my term life insurance to a whole life policy. He stressed the importance of doing it now, before I got any older and the rates went up higher. So I did, and he was nice enough to back-date the application by one day.
We then went on to have a much more pleasant conversation about cars. I need to get a second car, something that gets better than the 21-22 mpg my van is getting. He mentioned hybrids, but the practical difference between a hybrid and corrola or civic isn't great enough to recoup the difference in cost by the savings on the gas. Plus I don't want or need another payment. What I really want is a VW Bug, but I don't have the time, place, or enough aptitude for a project car.
I found This '72 Super Beetle on craigslist. The price is great, but still more than I want to spend. Then there was this Thing, but the color is less than ideal.
