The Forbidden Kingdom
Apr. 20th, 2008 08:46 pmI went to Dover today to get Brandon a new cell phone. Then we hit the movies and saw The Forbidden Kingdom. It's a good movie. The initial fight scenes alone were worth the price of the tickets. After it was over, we had a compelling appetite for Chinese food. There's a half-dozen restaurants within walking distance of the theater, including a very good Chinese place.
The theater we went to is The Strand. It look rather unimpressive on the outside, just another brick building in state full of thousands of them. The inside was something altogether different. The place is old and huge; the ceiling in the main theater has the scrolled pillars that were probably gilt when the place was new, which I'm guessing was sometime in the 1920s or 30s. I told Brandon that when Iron Man comes out next month we would have to see it at the The Strand.
