odd random flavors
Jun. 12th, 2009 11:55 pmLast weekend I got some garlic bread to go with dinner with my kids. There was a lot left over, so I've been eating it throughout the week. I initially put it on the grill with the chicken (it was the kind from the grocery store bakery in the foil bag), but it didn't really get too toasted that way. I think I was turning it to much, in my effort to not burn it. Consequently, the kids didn't have more than a piece each of it.
I've been toasting it a slice at a time in my toaster oven. If you've ever done this with garlic bread, you know how much the garlic butter melts and drips. I've been setting the toaster over to "broil" so the bottom element doesn't turn on; otherwise as the butter drips out of the bread and hits the bottom element, it burns. As in fire, with nice flashes of colorful flame. So I avoided the fire hazard, but still got drippy garlic butter on the bottom of the toaster over.
About 5 minutes ago I toasted some pop-tarts, using the "toast" setting. According to the box, they are brown sugar cinnamon. According to my mouth, they are brown sugar cinnamon garlic. It's an odd combination.
