I totally kicked ass tonight. Last night I made this huge to-do list for myself for today, starting with work. I had to change my time off arrangements at work for when I'm going to Ohio later this month. When I got home I had to do a few small errands, and then get serious in the kitchen. I baked, and it was fun.

OK, it wasn't fun at first when I realized that my glass pans weren't the right size, but I dealt with it. A quick run to walmart and four bucks later and I was the proud owner of a non-stick bread pan of the appropriate size. I followed Becky's advice for lunch, and baked bread with stuff in it. Specifically, lamb I marinaded in caribbean jerk sauce over-night. I cheated a little and used frozen bread dough I bought yesterday. I came out alright enough. Certainly not presentable enough for serving in a restaurant, as the loaves had that somewhat run-over look to them. But they look (and taste, as I had sample) good enough to do for lunch for the week.

I'm quite certain I dropped more on this week's lunch than I would have had I continued with the soup and crackers, but I'm also certain that had I done so, I would have ultimately gone out and bought lunch rather than continue to try to O.D. on soup. So, definitely a success in that regard, although I may be well over my love of lamb by week's end.

I also watched Monday Night Football, although I wasn't as into it as I'd anticipated being. Tonight's game was historic. Record-breaking, in fact, as Bret Farve became the only NFL quarterback in the modern era to lead his team to victory against all of the current teams in the league, which right now is 32. But in spite of that, I was fairly blasé about it all. I have Green Bay's QB, Aaron Rogers, in my fantasy league. He ended better than I thought he was going to, given how the 1st quarter went. My FFL teams are usually very hot or very cold. This year's team started ice cold and I've spent the first four weeks in last place after digging a huge hole by scoring all of 39 points in the first week when five teams scored over 100. I may climb out of the cellar after tonight's effort from Rogers, but it's not going to be by much. There's always next year, I suppose.
