I didn't get much sleep last night, so when I got back here after work and it was 85+ inside, it wasn't long before I was nodding off. I decided to crash for an hour or so, then got up and made something to eat. I wanted to watch TV but there wasn't anything good on. So I put on a DVD.

I have several of the Star Trek Fan Collections, and I put on the Time Travel one. I skipped the first three shows and started watching STTNG: Cause and Effect. I very much like this particular episode; I suspect it's because it greatly appeals to the OCD in me (for those of you who have not seen it, repetition is its theme). As I'm watching, I notice how young Gates McFadden looks. So I go to the imdb and check out her bio. And the first thing that hits me is this:

US TV Schedule:

Mon. July 21 7:00 PM SCIFI Star Trek: The Next Generation Cause and Effect

I think to myself, what an appropriate bit of deja vue! Then I remember why I looked her up in the first place and check her age: Date of Birth: 2 March 1949.

Wow! I didn't think she was that old at all. Then something odd happens and I get this weird feeling and check the air date of the episode to see how old she was at the time, and I find this:

Original Air Date:21 March 1992 (Season 5, Episode 18)

I do the math in my head and immediately almost fall out of my chair laughing. She was 43 years and 19 days old when that episode aired (and yes, I know, she was even younger when it was filmed). I am 43 years and 47 days old today. So there is very good reason for me to think she is young looking: I'm finally old enough to have that perspective.
