RIP Brad Delp
Mar. 9th, 2007 10:55 pmBrad Delp, the Voice of the rock band BOSTON was found dead in his home this morning. He was only 55. This article talks about not just Brad's career, but his impact on music and fans:

In addition to still recording and touring with Boston, he was part of a Beatles tribute band, Beatlejuice. They performed regularly in and around the Boston area and the NH seacoast. I very much regret that I never made the time to go see them perform.
He recently did a radio interview with a local New Hampshire station about the Beatles and his band:

Boston was set to tour this summer. Guitarist Fran Cosmo, who first appeared on the 4th Boston album, "Walk On", and was the lead singer on the side-project Orion The Hunter, could step in for Brad, but Tom Scholtz would have to do some serious apologizing. Last year Scholtz kicked Cosmo out of the band and sued him for performing live billed as "Boston".
They were working on a new Boston album. It's unknown how much of it was finished. We may see a new album, or another compilation with a couple of new tracks, or nothing at all.
I'm very sad. I was 12 when Boston's first album came out in 1976. To me, Boston was rock music. Loud, melodic, at times nearly orchestral, and always powerful and dramatic. It's not going to be the same anymore.
