Mar. 11th, 2007 01:38 pmI'm still so sad about Brad Delp's passing. The article in today's local newspaper has more nice things to say about him:
"He was the most humble guy you'd want to meet. He had no rock star attitude, he had no problem mingling with the crowd. He'd talk to fans for hours," said local musician Gardner Berry
Life is way too short. I kid around about being an old man, about being "half done", but in truth, the time we have is precious and I waste way too much of it.
I took Danny out yesterday. He'd been asking for a light sabre for weeks now, and wanting to go to Toys r Us to see get one. He'd get so animated talking about it, there was no mistaking how serious he was about it. Fortunately, when we got there we found right up front they had foam swords and shields. He was all into them and was delighted when I put a second set in the cart. After all, what fun is it having a foam sword if you don't have someone else with one whom you can fight?
And then the really cool part was when we found the Star Wars light sabres and saw that they were hard plastic. He immediately got how much safer the foam stuff was going to be, and was even a bit disappointed in the Star Wars stuff.
Today it's time with Mike. He wants a haircut; we'll have to see what can be managed without an appointment, given that he couldn't be organized enough to ask about this earlier than last night. Sometimes he just drives me insane with his lack of attention span for organization for immediate needs on one hand, and his ability to have these very mature, long-term focused goals on the other.
And then I want to see a movie tonight. The 300 is out and looks incredible, but I very much want to see Pan's Labyrinth before it goes away, so I think I'll go see that one.
