"Something about traumatic, life-altering stress that just sucks the mojo out of you"

-- me to a co-worker today

I was on just about the last airplane out of Manchester on Friday before they closed the airport due to the snowstorm. The airport at Baltimore stayed open long enough for our plane to get in and get out. Cleveland never closes.

My grandfather is doing better, thank you, everyone, for all the prayers and well wishes.

He has dementia, but not so advanced that he's not aware of what is happening to him. It's poignant and tragic that hurts the most only at that deepest personal level. It also unavoidable makes me wonder if I'll end-up that way.

There are DNA tests for a variety of ailments, dementia among them. However, do I want to live my life knowing well in advance of how it very well might end?

This brave woman did just that, and over something more dramatically debilitating, Huntington’s disease. She is a very brave person, I think.
