The why is the what, and there's really no explanation of the what, not even an adequate label. The associated meta-emotions, however, are all of the usual suspects. I suppose the trick is to not be so self-absorbed that you get caught up with how you feel about what you are feeling or trying to label it, but to just go with it and let it happen.
