catch-up and today's quote
Apr. 6th, 2007 08:39 pmToday is my brother's 40th birthday. So naturally, I had to get him black roses. We got our older sister black orchids for her 30th, so he's had to suspect this was coming. The power outage from yesterday's snow storm threw my day off in a big way, cause I should have ordered these yesterday.
I was one of the 80,000 homes without power yesterday. I also, as a result, got up late. I should have taken pictures, but I was in a panic about being late, which was stupid because the hospital was without power and running on the generator. Until the power came back, there was little for me to do. The snow was gorgeous. The whole way to work I was mentally kicking myself for not bringing my camera. The trees, the houses, the buildings, the power and cable lines were all covered in heavy, wet snow. Driving the back roads through this residential area was very cool. All the pine trees were weighted down with the snow, making the road a sparkling white tunnel. We are supposed to get more snow next week. I will have my camera out and ready for that.
One of the perils of asking two questions is the subsequent quandary
about what to do with only a single answer.
