You never can tell
Jan. 31st, 2008 09:49 pmIt seems I won't be needing a dentist. At least, not for the pain I was having in my teeth and jaw. It's not referred pain from an ear or sinus infection. And I did not break a filling or crack a tooth. Today, incontrovertible visual evidence presented itself, revealing the true source of my discomfort: I have a wisdom tooth coming in.
(Feel free to take a much time as necessary to laugh out loud.)
Having as many kids as I do, I've considered a lot of different possibilities of future activities. Odd things, like getting married *after* either (or both) of my oldest sons do. Typical things like hauling them all with me in the traditional cross-country trek to the usual places, or at least to the Grand Canyon in the finest Brady Bunch tradition. But cutting a tooth at the same time as one of my kids was definitely not in the list of considerations. Thankfully, it's coming in under the only other one I have (which came in when I was 18), and means that the pair will, eventually, be useful.
Imagine that? Something new *and* useful. At my age.
