when it rains, it pours
Jan. 30th, 2008 12:16 amI now have three job opportunities for which, reportedly, my resume was submited in consideration by two different employment firms. Out of the blue today, a job that I was on "indefinite hold" is now available and the company is looking to do interviews as soon as next week. I also have a phone interview with another potential employer tomorrow and a promise of another phone interview with the third company later this week.
The timing, if belated, is most welcome. I gambled and ordered more heating oil today because the gauge is at empty and I don't know if there's enough in the tank to heat this place for longer than over night, even with the thermostat set below 60. And tomorrow I have to order some delivered to the house because they are about empty there as well. At least I benefited this time around by waiting as the price has dropped by almost 20 cents a gallon since last month.
And also unprompted, the girl who cuts my hair called today and asked if I could move my appointment for this coming Saturday to sometime this week. So I got my hair cut tonight. Now if I get a request for an in-person interview this week, I'm even more ready.
Tonight I did some follow-up from yesterday's post, and found and downloaded the manual for my van (cause I forgot to check it when I was actually in the van tonight, and it's much too cold to go outside again) and yes, the driveshaft and boots are only to be inspected every 15k, not replaced.
