ups and downs
I had an interview Friday afternoon at Monster.com for job as a UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator. I think it went well, and that I made a decent impression. They have a very cool setup in an old mill building. The only thing I didn't like was the nearly 3 hour slide home in the sleet and freezing rain. The ride down was only an hour twenty, which isn't terrible.
While I was out, a company that I applied to 4 weeks ago called and wants to interview me, also for a Unix admin position. They have the advantage of being in New Hampshire, so Monday morning I have to call them first thing and find out if the salary range is where I'm looking and then see if he would be willing to interview me Monday afternoon or Tuesday.
Today has been something less than a success. The Ex ran out of heating oil at the house, my pay check did not arrive (again), and it seems that the hospital got my W-2 wrong, so I can't do my taxes yet. I did garner a small consolation at the grocery store when I bought a case of Heineken, and got carded. Gotta love the baseball cap effect, I suppose.
