What to say?
Aug. 18th, 2008 10:53 pmI've not been in a writing mood lately. In part because I've actually been busy living life, in part because I'm still in flux. Still putting the new place together. Still dealing with unpredictable craziness at work.
Work is better. My manager does get it, he just can't do a lot about it all at once. Regarding my last post, the manager of the engineering group in question stepped up when he got back from vacation and identified the script causing the problem and made the necessary changes. Tomorrow is our weekly meeting with them; I'm looking forward to the post mortem.
I took the kids to see the new Star Wars movie yesterday. It was painful. There's nothing in it that ties anything together between any of the preceding films. The story-line is pretty much a "day in the life" view that you'd expect from episodic television. The only reason this wasn't a direct-to-DVD release was the strength the franchise, which is now rapidly eroding.
My only worry at the moment is that my budget has been overly strained and money for the next four weeks is going to be tight, as in non-existent because it's already spent kind of tight. This means I need to filter to the top of my To Do list getting some stuff listed on ebay. I have to get oil for the house and manage school shopping for clothes for the kids. And this after paying the second half of my security deposit as well as some carry-over stuff from last paycheck that I blew-off in order to get moved in here. Plus I have two friends who are moving this month to whom I have volunteered both my services as porter and the use of my van as beast of burden, and I'll be damned if I'm going back on that.
