My kids had this past week off from school for winter break (which seems to be a New England-only sort of thing), so I took Friday off from work to spend time with them. Danny had asked earlier if we could do lunch at Friendly's, so that was the plan. But first we had to hit the DMV so my Ex could get a temporary tag and a VIN verification form for her car, which we did. Then we hit the Comcast office so I could get some digital cable boxes. They switched their signal from analog to digital for about 20 channels this week, and I don't have an HD TV, so I need the boxes. Except they gave me the wrong stuff, so I have to go back tomorrow morning and swap it for the correct stuff. How Comcastic.

Friendly's was fun, and afterward I took Dan and Elyssia home with me so Sam could go shopping with her mom. We hung out here for a couple hours and after their mom and sister were done shopping, they came here and we swapped kids. Sam and I were going to go hear this lecture at the Planetarium: http://starhop.com/plan-your-visit/event-details.aspx?id=131
but it got canceled due to the bad weather we had this week, which resulted in almost 300,00 people without power, some until today, some still without. It's not been rescheduled yet. I'm going to call tomorrow to find out if they have plans to reschedule it, and I hope they do. So instead, we went to the movies and saw "The Tooth Fairy". It was stereotypical, trite, and completely predictable. And funny, clever at times, even somewhat charming (Billy Crystal stole a couple of scenes), and a very nice time out with my girl.

Yesterday and today were spend cleaning house, doing laundry, doing a little cooking, reading, and watching Battlestar Galactica on DVD. I started watching from season 1 awhile ago and I finished 2.5 today. After I hit post on this, I need to iron, write my rent check and get it ready to mail, and then I can go back to bed and read for an hour or so. Tomorrow begins a new month; it's going to be a very busy one at work for me, as I'll finally have several projects going at once. It will be interesting to see just what sort of challenge that will present, and how well I will rise to it.
