all over the place
Apr. 6th, 2010 09:41 pmI've been in catch-up mode with my life for a while now, and still not getting there. I just caught-up on my lj friends' list for the first time in over a week. my apologies. If there's anything anyone was particularly interested in me seeing or commenting on, please feel free to beat me over the head with it via e-mail.
I did get my kids this weekend, from Friday night through Saturday evening, and will be doing the same next weekend. Saturday morning there's a pancake breakfast fundraiser for some school event that's being hosted by the local Applebee's. My two little kids are quite excited by this, and Sam is tolerating going along. I just found out from her mom that she signed-up for track. I was surprised by this, and then surprised even more by feeling immediately hurt that she didn't tell me herself--but then she's only 13 and still hasn't really figured out that she can call me now that she has a phone. So tomorrow I'm going to call her and let her know I'd be very appreciative if she could share with me some more. My second oldest is now 20, and he still prefers to talk to me through his mom, so if I can get her to stop doing that (at least some of the time), that would be very nice. Being assertive is not something I've been at all good at in my life, and if I want my kids to be better at it, then I need to be better. Now.
