There were only a little over 400 e-mails in my inbox at work this morning. Not too bad for having been out for 4 days. I waded through most of them, delt with some left-over helpdesk tickets not looked at last week, and then spent several hours chasing down a Veritas error that turns out to be Veritas misundersanding the state how the SAN presents the partition. So yay for false negatives: I didn't have to try to attempt anything delicate with a live server and killed an hour educating myself in the process.
However the on-going debate about roles and responsibilities continue. Tomorrow is our standing meeting with the software engineer group where my manager has promised that at least some of the immediate issues will be addressed, as he's as frustrated witht he state of things as I am. I promised to not be confrontational about it, so we'll see what happens.

Date: 2008-06-17 04:08 am (UTC)I take it you're still not getting along with the Veritas cluster. What OS is it running on? Microsoft's cluster service for 2003 is much improved over that of 2000, and light-years ahead of NT4.
